ACROBATICS PROGRAM

Studio Dansu is a Certified Acrobatic Arts Studio

Our Acrobatic Program is based on the Acrobatic Arts Certification Program.  This style of AcroDance combines classical dance technique and acrobatic elements with effective progressions in flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering, and tumbling.

Young Dancer Division

Ages 1.5 - 3 years old

Tiny Tumblers - 30 min    (ages 1.5-3)
Support your child as they learn the basics of tumbling while enhancing muscle control, patience, and flexibility while having fun using the mats and their imaginations.

Ages 2.5-6 years old

AcroDance I - 30 min    (ages 2.5-4)
This fun class without parent participation works on the beginning level of the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum with the primary objectives of following instructions and taking turns.
AcroDance II - 30 min    (ages 3-5)
Movement games pair with basic Acrobatics skills in a creative class that starts to develop coordination, balance, strength, and self-confidence.
 
AcroDance III - 30 min    (ages 4-6)
Your child will continue to explore different Acrobatics movements and begin mastering the basic skills in the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum.
Youth & Student Division

Ages 5+ years old

Beginning - 40 min    (ages 5+)

Dancers are introduced to the fundamental techniques of AcroDance through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Primary-Level 2 with focus on mixing dance technique and acrobatic elements.

✔ Ballet or modern are recommended, but are not required.

Beginning/Intermediate - 40 min    (ages 6+)

Dancers continue to learn basic tumbling skills through exercises that focus on improving balance, flexibility, and strength through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Level 2-Level 4

✔ Ballet or modern are recommended, but are not required.

✔ 2 Acro classes per week are recommended, but not required

Intermediate - 60 min    (ages 8+)

Dancers learn the intermediate techniques of AcroDance through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Level 3-Level 5 with emphasis on more advanced acrobatic elements and combinations.

 

✔ Ballet or modern are recommended, but are not required.

✔ 2 Acro classes per week are recommended, but not required

Intermediate/Advanced - 60 min    (ages 10+)

Dancers continue to work on intermediate techniques through exercises that focus on partner work and stamina through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Level 5-Level 7.

✔ Ballet or modern are required.

✔ 2 Acro classes per week are required, 3 are recommended

Advanced - 80 min    (ages 11+)

Dancers learn the advanced techniques of AcroDance through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Level 6-Level 8 with emphasis on tumbling and contortion.

✔ Ballet or modern are required.

✔ 2 Acro classes per week are required, 3 are recommended

Advanced/Pre-Professional - 80 min    (ages 13+)

Dancers continue to master techniques of AcroDance through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Level 8-Pre-Professional Level 2.

✔ Ballet or modern are required.

✔ 2 Acro classes per week are required, 3 are recommended

Pre-Professional - 80 min    (ages 14+)

Dancers will master techniques of AcroDance through the Acrobatic Arts Curriculum Pre-Professional Level 1-Level 3

✔ Ballet or modern are required.

✔ 3 Acro classes per week are required
